The match had been rescheduled from March due to the tragic passing of Fiorentina director Joe Barone.

The Sunday game was intense and action-packed, with a suspected knee injury to Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini adding to the drama.

Despite a recent 1-0 loss in the Conference League Final, Fiorentina began the match with determination.

Gaetano Castrovilli’s precise cross allowed Belotti to score the first goal with a diving header. Atalanta quickly answered when Ademola Lookman, assisted by Charles De Ketelaere, scored with a skillful chip.

Fiorentina regained the lead as captain Cristiano Biraghi’s cross was volleyed in by Nico Gonzalez. Atalanta equalized again through Scalvini, who scored from the edge of the box before leaving the game due to injury.

Just before halftime, Fiorentina secured the lead for good. Lucas Beltran’s shot was redirected by Belotti into an open net, marking his second goal.

In the second half, Atalanta pushed hard for another equalizer. Emil Holm nearly scored with an impressive move, and Mario Pasalic’s header hit the crossbar.

Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez almost added another goal, but Atalanta’s goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made a key save.

Near the end, Gianluca Scamacca had a chance to equalize, but Fiorentina’s debutant goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli made an outstanding save. Fiorentina’s victory officially concluded the Serie A season.
