This potential move is part of Barcelona’s strategy to comply with La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, which would ease their current spending limits.

Deco, the Sporting director and a fellow countryman of Fernandes, has reportedly shown interest in bringing the talented player to Spain, as per Football Espana.

In the meantime, Bayern Munich has also shown interest in Fernandes, suggesting that he could be a sought-after player in the forthcoming transfer window.
Even though Fernandes had a relatively quiet 2023/24 season, he continues to be one of the Premier League’s leading attacking midfielders.
However, there are questions about whether Fernandes, who is 29 years old, is the right fit for Barcelona’s immediate requirements, despite his undeniable skills.
