Aisha Yesufu Declines to Stand During Recitation of New National Anthem

Outspoken activist, Aisha Yesufu, publicly declines the newly adopted national anthem, refusing to acknowledge it during a recent event.

In a video that has since gone viral, the activist was seen sitting unperturbed while the anthem was being recited, clearly expressing her objection to it.

Aisha Yesufu shared the video of her protest on her X account on Friday with the hashtag #NotMyNationalAnthem.

Her actions clearly convey her dissatisfaction with the reintroduction of the old national anthem.

This act of protest comes after President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law, reinstating the old anthem “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
