Drew Gordon attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California. He was a four-year varsity letterwinner and three-time All-West Catholic Athletic League first-team selection.
Gordon led his high school team to three league championships and was recognized for his outstanding performance, including being named a member of the 2008 Jordan Brand Classic and earning several player of the year awards.
College Career
UCLA: Gordon committed to UCLA in 2007, where he played as a freshman, averaging 3.6 points per game.
His sophomore season started promisingly, but he transferred to the University of New Mexico after six games due to a “mutual parting” with UCLA’s head coach.

New Mexico: At New Mexico, Gordon excelled, averaging 13.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in his junior year. He continued his impressive performance into his senior year, earning several preseason accolades and posting consistent double-doubles. His contributions helped the Lobos achieve significant success during his tenure.

Professional Career
Despite projections, Gordon was undrafted in the 2012 NBA draft but played in the NBA Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks.
He then embarked on an international career, playing for teams in Serbia, Italy, Turkey, France, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, and Japan. Gordon also had stints in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers and in the G League.

Drew Gordon tragically passed away in a car accident on May 30, 2024, in Portland, Oregon. He was 33 years old. Gordon is survived by his wife, Angela, and their three children.
