Efe Money, the winner of the 2017 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBN), has offered his insights into why musicians who have participated in the popular reality TV show often struggle to succeed in the music industry. In a recent interview with Trending on Hip TV, Efe shared his perspective on the challenges faced by ex-BBN housemates trying to establish themselves as musicians.

Efe highlighted a fundamental disconnect between the audiences of reality TV and music. He explained that the viewers who follow reality shows like Big Brother Naija are not the same as those who actively engage with and consume music. This discrepancy, he believes, is a significant factor contributing to the difficulties faced by former housemates in building a sustainable music career.

“The reality TV audience is almost different from the music audience. The reality TV audience are passive consumers of music. They enjoy lifestyle and drama, while the active music consumers are different, “Efe Money said.

“When you go to reality TV, they just want to see you for your drama, fine clothes, who you’re dating. They have less interest in your music,” Efe added.
