Rapper Sean Kingston Agrees to Return to Florida in $1 Million Fraud Case

Rapper Sean Kingston has agreed to be returned to Florida to face serious allegations of fraud and theft amounting to over $1 million. This come after his arrest on May 23 in Fort Irwin, Southern California, the same day Florida authorities conducted a raid on his Fort Lauderdale residence and detained his mother, Janice Turner.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, signed paperwork waiving his right to challenge the extradition in a California court. As a result, Kingston is set to be transported to Florida, though the exact timeline of his return remains uncertain.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Kingston, 34, and his mother, 61, are accused of orchestrating a scheme to defraud multiple businesses of over $1 million. The alleged crimes include the theft of jewellery, money, a luxury car, and more. The arrest warrants detail a sophisticated plan involving multiple victims.

The Jamaican-born singer, renowned for his hits such as “Beautiful Girls,” “Fire Burning,” and “Eenie Meenie,” has been held in a Southern California jail since his arrest. California sheriff’s officials are coordinating with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to facilitate his extradition.

Also, he is named in a separate lawsuit involving a company claiming he failed to pay for a large TV and sound system fully. The lawsuit alleges that Kingston persuaded the company to install the products with minimal downpayment by making false promises, including creating promotional videos featuring Justin Bieber. The company, having not received the remaining payments, is suing Kingston for breach of contract and fraud.
