The driver, Noel Adams, was reported missing since Saturday, May 26, after he was last seen alive. Adams had picked up two passengers from Tema and was en route to Accra when the accident occurred.
As they approached the abattoir bridge, the heavy flooding obscured Adams’ vision, causing the car to veer off the road and into the gutter.
Pedestrians discovered the submerged vehicle and alerted the authorities. Upon inspection, the car was found empty, prompting a search effort.

Eyewitnesses revealed that ceremonies were performed at the scene before a body was recovered from the water. Subsequently, the body of the second passenger was found at Tema Community 19.
However, Adams’ body was discovered several days later at a beach in Klagon. It is speculated that he attempted to exit the vehicle, as the windscreen was shattered and his door was open when the car was found. His body is believed to have been carried away by the floodwaters.
The identities of the two passengers have yet to be confirmed.
