Laverock was initially taken to a Winnipeg hospital on May 11 by her mother for a “medical emergency,” according to a GoFundMe campaign created by her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton.

At that time, her parents wrote that “her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement.”

She was later transferred to a Vancouver hospital for follow-up treatment.

In a recent update on her GoFundMe page, her parents wrote, “We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.”

“She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support,” her parents continued. “We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”

Hallmark Media, the parent company of Hallmark Channel, released the following statement: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our *When Calls the Heart* community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”

Johannah Newmarch, who portrays Laverock’s on-screen mother Molly Sullivan, asked for support for the family in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can,” Newmarch wrote on May 27. “They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

Laverock recurred as nursing student Rosaleen Sullivan in the first two seasons of *When Calls the Heart* and most recently reprised her role in Season 10 in 2023.

She also played Britney in the 2020 TV movie Spotlight on Christmas and appeared in guest-starring roles on A Series of Unfortunate Events and Psych, among other credits.
