Legendary boxer Mike Tyson experienced a health scare during an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, according to his representatives. The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion became ill approximately 30 minutes before landing.

Tyson’s publicist released a statement detailing the incident, explaining that Tyson “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up” during the flight.

The statement also reassured fans that Tyson is recovering well: “Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

As the plane approached Los Angeles International Airport, first responders were dispatched to meet American Airlines flight 1815 upon landing, in response to the medical emergency onboard.

An airline spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating, “First responders were sent to American Airlines flight 1815 from Miami as it landed at LA International Airport due to the medical needs of a customer.”
