Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM’s ‘Nyankonton Mu Nsem’, Sateckla highlighted the potential hazards associated with driving in the rain, including reduced visibility and compromised road conditions.
She stressed the importance of maintaining vehicles in optimal condition, paying close attention to essential components such as wipers, tyres, lights, and reflectors.
Sateckla cautioned drivers about the prevalent hazy weather conditions during the rainy season, which can impede visibility and pose significant risks on the roads.

She advised drivers to exercise vigilance and adjust their driving behavior accordingly, especially when encountering flooded roads or deteriorated road surfaces.
To mitigate the risks of accidents and fatalities, the NRSA recommended several safety measures, including reducing speed, maintaining a safe following distance, and avoiding flooded areas whenever possible.
Sateckla urged drivers to prioritize their safety by delaying travel plans during heavy rainfall or seeking shelter if caught in adverse weather conditions while on the road.
By adhering to these guidelines and ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy, drivers can play a crucial role in reducing road accidents and fatalities during the rainy season.
The NRSA’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to promoting road safety and protecting the lives of all road users across the country.
