NPP National Organizer Names Supreme Court Justice in Dame-Jakpa Controversy

Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has disclosed the identity of the Supreme Court Justice involved in the Dame-Jakpa controversy.

In a social media post on May 27, 2024, Nana B revealed that the Supreme Court Justice is Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi.

This revelation follows recent confirmations by the Attorney-General’s (A-G) spokesperson, Wilberforce Mensah, who acknowledged that Godfred Dame met Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial involving Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson.

The meeting occurred at the residence of Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi, who is a cousin of Jakpa. Mensah clarified that the A-G was unaware that Jakpa would be present at the meeting in April 2024.

Although they discussed Jakpa’s plea-bargaining proposal, Mensah emphasized that Dame did not request Jakpa’s help to implicate Ato Forson.

Nana B’s post alleged that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to use an audio recording from the meeting to accuse the A-G of unethical and criminal conduct.

He claimed that the NDC is attempting to manipulate the recording to exclude parts of the conversation, especially the voice of Justice Kulendi.

“We are reliably informed that NDC is trying every means to maliciously ‘doctor’ the said tape to exclude portions of the conversation and particularly the voice of the Supreme Court Justice, whose invitation the AG honoured out of courtesy. The full-length recording will reveal the AG never requested Richard Jakpa to skew his testimony in any manner as bandied around by the NDC,” Nana B stated.

In response, the NDC has scheduled a Moment of Truth press conference to present their evidence against the A-G. The details of the event are as follows:
