The funds were distributed among 420 traders, with each receiving 1,000 cedis. The gesture aimed to provide much-needed financial support to bolster the businesses of traders facing capital challenges.
Mercer, who also serves as the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, emphasized the non-partisan nature of the donation, stating that it was extended to any trader in need of support, regardless of political affiliation.
“We did it without any political party affiliation; any trader who needed the support was given. Many still need financial support for their businesses, and we shall continue to seek further assistance to ensure everyone is satisfied,” Mercer explained.
