Maresca, a 44-year-old from Italy, has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Mauricio Pochettino, who left the position vacant.

Maresca’s reputation has soared after guiding Leicester City back to the Premier League as champions of the Championship, England’s second-tier football league. He joined Leicester City’s coaching staff last year after leaving Manchester City, and his impact has been felt.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between Maresca and Chelsea have progressed positively.

Maresca is reportedly enthusiastic about the project Chelsea has in mind, and discussions about his contract are already underway.

Romano also mentioned that Chelsea will need to negotiate with Leicester City regarding a compensation fee, which could amount to €10 million.

If Maresca takes the helm at Chelsea, it would mark a significant step in his coaching career and a new chapter for the London-based club.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting further developments as talks between the parties continue to unfold.
