Chelsea Football Club has officially asked for permission to speak with Enzo Maresca, the current manager of Leicester City, about potentially taking over as their new head coach.

Maresca, a 44-year-old from Italy, has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Mauricio Pochettino, who left the position vacant.
Maresca’s reputation has soared after guiding Leicester City back to the Premier League as champions of the Championship, England’s second-tier football league. He joined Leicester City’s coaching staff last year after leaving Manchester City, and his impact has been felt.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks between Maresca and Chelsea have progressed positively.
