Akon Praises Davido as the ‘Ultimate Shouter’, Ranks Him Above Wizkid

Senegalese-American singer Akon recently shared his views on two of the biggest Afrobeat stars, Davido and Wizkid, in an interview.

When asked who he preferred, Akon chose Davido, despite knowing it often gets him into trouble to mention anything about the artist.

During the interview, the host noted that Davido is known for his loud singing style. Akon agreed and even mimicked Davido’s energetic performance, humorously calling him the “ultimate shouter.”

This comment did not sit well with some of Davido’s fans, who expressed their displeasure in the interview’s comment section.

Akon is known for more than just his music. In 2014, he started the Akon Lighting Africa project, which aims to provide electricity to African communities.

He is also developing his own city in Senegal, set to be completed in 2028. Over the years, Akon has earned significant recognition.

In 2010, he was ranked 80th in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list and 5th among the 40 Most Powerful Celebrities in Africa in 2011.

Billboard named him the 6th Top Digital Songs Artist of the decade, and he holds a Guinness World Record for selling 11 million master ringtones by December 2007.
