Jayne Atkinson, born on February 18, 1959, in Bournemouth, Dorset, England, moved to the United States with her family at a young age.

She began her acting career on stage, appearing in various Broadway productions, and received Tony Award nominations for her performances in “The Rainmaker” in 2000 and “Enchanted April” in 2003.

Although she has the name Atkinson, she is in no wise related to Rowan Atkinson.
