John Abdulai Jinapor, the ranking member of the Energy Committee in Parliament, affirmed the Minority’s commitment to using all available legal avenues to retrieve the funds.

Speaking to the media at the Pwalugu dam site, Jinapor emphasized the need to hold accountable those responsible for the financial loss to the state.

Jinapor expressed dismay at the abandonment of the project and the significant financial resources wasted.

He emphasized that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would ensure that those involved in causing such losses to the state face prosecution.

The ranking member highlighted the substantial impact that $12 million could have had on national development, emphasizing the need for accountability and restitution.

“We will activate all the Parliament processes to retrieve that amount of almost 200,000 million Ghana cedis that have been dashed to this contractor,” Jinapor stated.

“So we will use every legitimate means, every legal means to retrieve the money and punish those who have caused this financial crime and financial loss to the state.”
