The students, who are enrolled in various universities across the country, have made an urgent appeal to President Akufo-Addo for the immediate release of their overdue stipends.

The students expressed their concerns during a peaceful demonstration, highlighting the significant challenges they have been enduring. The delay in stipend payments has left many on the brink of eviction from their apartments as they struggle to pay their rent. In addition to housing insecurity, the students have reported difficulties in affording necessities, forcing them to rely on the generosity of friends to get by.

This financial strain is not only affecting their living conditions but also their academic performance and overall well-being. The lack of funds has placed an enormous burden on these students, who initially came to Morocco with high hopes of furthering their education under the scholarship programme.
One of the students, speaking on behalf of the group, explained the gravity of their situation: “We are appealing to President Akufo-Addo and the relevant authorities to urgently address this issue. The delayed stipends have put us in a very precarious position, and we are at risk of losing our housing and our ability to sustain ourselves.”
