The aftermath of the storm has revealed significant losses, with post-storm assessments indicating widespread water coverage across the farm. The heavy rains and subsequent flooding inflicted structural damage and led to the ruin of over 20 greenhouses, crucial to the farm’s operations.
This incident has dire implications for the local community, especially for the youth employed on the farm. The potential loss of jobs for over 150 young workers threatens the economic stability of the region, which heavily relies on agriculture as a primary source of income.
The Maphlix farm, known for its extensive production and contribution to the local economy, faces a daunting recovery process. Efforts are underway to assess the full extent of the damage and to formulate a recovery plan.
