The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is mourning the loss of its former Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde, who passed away at the age of 61.

According to a statement by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the commission is deeply saddened by Lamorde’s death. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Lamorde died on Sunday in Cairo, Egypt.
Oyewale shared that the EFCC was shocked by the sudden passing of Lamorde, who served as the pioneer Director of Operations and the third substantive Chairman of the EFCC from February 15, 2012, to November 9, 2015.

He described Lamorde as a dedicated and courageous anti-corruption fighter who made significant contributions to the nation. The EFCC, along with the entire country, will greatly miss him.
The EFCC has extended its condolences to Lamorde’s family, praying for comfort for them and for the entire commission and nation during this difficult time.
The commission honors his legacy and service, reflecting on the impact he had in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
