The game commenced with Atalanta’s aggressive pursuit of an early lead. Gianluca Scamacca broke the deadlock with a precise shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner.

Ademola Lookman, riding high from his hat-trick in the Europa League Final, was a constant menace, though he narrowly missed scoring from a challenging position.

Atalanta’s advantage was doubled shortly before the break when Charles De Ketelaere set up Mario Pasalic, whose initial effort was deflected by Luca Gemello only for Lookman to tap in the rebound.

The second half saw Scamacca’s potential goal annulled after De Ketelaere was adjudged to have crossed the by-line earlier. Bellanova’s attempt from distance grazed the post, and Lookman had a goal disallowed due to a minor infringement by Scamacca.

The victory was cemented with a Pasalic penalty following Adrien Tameze’s foul on Lookman inside the penalty area. Lookman almost scored again but was deemed offside.

The win marked a triumphant end to Atalanta’s season, highlighted by backup goalkeeper Rossi’s crucial save in his season debut, ensuring a clean sheet for the team.
