Kudus, who has scored several spectacular goals, delivered a particularly remarkable strike on the final day of the season against Manchester City.
In the match, despite Pep Guardiola鈥檚 side securing victory to be crowned champions ahead of Arsenal, Kudus scored West Ham鈥檚 consolation goal with a breathtaking overhead kick.
The sequence began with a corner kick from James Ward-Prowse that Manchester City failed to clear properly. Kudus skillfully flicked the ball over his marker before executing a stunning overhead kick that found the back of the net.
The 23-year-old鈥檚 strike left many fans in awe, with social media abuzz with praise and predictions that the goal would win the Premier League Goal of the Season. However, to the surprise of many, the Ghana international did not even make the shortlist released by the Premier League on Wednesday.

The shortlist for the award includes 10 players: Manchester United quartet Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Kobbie Mainoo; Brighton and Hove Albion鈥檚 Kaoru Mitoma; Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister; Chelsea duo Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo; Burnley鈥檚 Saman Khoddos; and Newcastle United鈥檚 Oscar Bobb.
Kudus’ omission from the Goal of the Season shortlist follows another snub, as he also missed out on being nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award, despite having a brilliant debut campaign in the English top flight. The Right to Dream academy graduate concluded the 2023/24 season with eight goals and six assists in 33 Premier League matches.
Fans and pundits alike have expressed their disappointment and bewilderment at Kudus’ exclusion, questioning the criteria used for the nominations.
His spectacular overhead kick against Manchester City remains a standout moment of the season, highlighting his exceptional talent and impact on the field.
