Ghanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has expressed his admiration for football legend Asamoah Gyan, naming him as his favourite player of all time.

Medikal made this revelation during an interview on the Starr Chat Show with Bola Ray on Accra-based Starr FM on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
The award-winning rapper praised Gyan, stating, “Asamoah Gyan is my favourite player of all time.” This high regard for the football star highlights Gyan’s significant impact on Ghanaian sports and culture.

Asamoah Gyan, who holds the record as Ghana’s top scorer with 51 goals, is also the country’s second most-capped player, trailing only Andre Ayew. His illustrious career includes notable stints in European football, particularly with Sunderland in the English Premier League.
Beyond his football achievements, the 38-year-old Gyan recently ventured into politics. He was announced as part of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign team ahead of the 2024 elections.
In February, he was appointed chair of the party’s sub-committee on Youth and Sports, working under Vice President Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer.
