Staind Founding Member and Drummer Jon Wysocki Passes Away at 53

Jon Wysocki, the drummer and founding member of the band Staind, has died at the age of 53.

His current band, Lydia’s Castle, announced his passing on May 19, stating that he died on May 18, surrounded by loved ones. An official statement is expected soon.

Staind, the band he helped create in 1995, also paid tribute to Wysocki. They recalled their early days and the 17 years they spent together, highlighting his significant role in their journey from practice sessions to global tours. They extended their condolences to his family and fans.

The cause of Wysocki’s death has not been disclosed, but reports suggest he had been dealing with liver issues that required medical attention.

Wysocki co-founded Staind with singer Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, and bassist Johnny April. He was part of the band until 2011, during which time they released three consecutive No. 1 albums: “Break the Cycle,” “14 Shades of Grey,” and “Chapter V.” Staind’s hits include “It’s Been Awhile” and “So Far Away.”

Aaron Lewis expressed his sorrow on Instagram, describing Wysocki as a friend he loved and fought with like a brother.

He reminisced about their shared battles and victories, expressing how deeply he will miss Wysocki. Lewis sent his heartfelt condolences to Wysocki’s family and loved ones, emphasizing the profound impact of his loss.
