The artist, known for his song ‘Bangdadadang,’ asserted this during an appearance as a guest on an episode of ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask,’ hosted by Bae U.

He also stated that he is presently the most talked-about musician in the subregion.

“I am the number one musician/celebrity in West Africa. No one is hotter than me,” Speed Darlington bragged.

In the meantime, the rapper based in the US cautioned fans against comparing him to Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid.

The online personality mentioned that many fans have been drawing comparisons, asserting that he surpasses the ‘Joro’ boss, which he finds displeasing.

During an Instagram live session, Speed Darlington expressed his strong discontent over the comparison, stating that it doesn’t align.

According to Akpi, he has been active in the music industry for nearly 8 years, and despite this, he and Wizkid have never crossed paths, although the singer once acknowledged him in New York.

Darlington also reminisced about a time when the Grammy winner purportedly endorsed his song by sharing it on social media.

“Why are people telling me that I am better than Wizkid? How do I and Wizkid correlate? Do you know how many years I’ve been in this industry? Seven years.

Next year, May 17 or 16, I will be 8 years in the industry and I’ve never met Wizkid. Although he has previously acknowledged me in New York. He posted one of my songs. Please, stop the comparison.”
