Gospel sensation, Philipa Baafi, has made it clear that she won’t compose songs specifically for political parties’ campaigns.

In a recent interview, Baafi, a trained Physician Assistant, explained that while she won’t create new songs for political campaigns, she’s open to parties using her existing songs.
Baafi stressed that political parties often want songs tailored to their messages, which she isn’t comfortable with. She stated, “If you tell me to do a song I won’t do it. But if the song is there and you want to use it, why not?”

She compared the situation to someone using a song for an advert but clarified that parties would need to seek permission due to copyright.
Baafi’s stance comes after her song ‘Go High’ was used by the NPP in 2008, despite being released in 2007.
By allowing parties to use her existing songs, Baafi maintains her artistic integrity while still supporting causes indirectly. This decision underscores her commitment to her craft while navigating the complexities of political involvement.
