Tuchel came under fire for what appeared a hugely controversial decision to substitute Kane during the Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid, with the German giants suffering a late collapse in that contest to tumble out of Europe. However, he explained after the game that he took off the forward because he “froze up” due to a back injury, and couldn’t continue.

Kane is now destined to finish his first season with Bayern empty-handed, and will not be adding to his tally of 44 goals through 45 appearances. That is because he remains stuck on the sidelines and will sit out the final-day clash with Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Tuchel has confirmed as much, telling reporters when asked about Kane’s condition: “Harry is getting treatment from his doctor. He can’t travel. He was already at the limit in Madrid. He had a complete blockade in his back, it’s gotten worse and bothers him in everyday movements.”
