Mahama Criticizes Government for Mishandling Small-Scale Mining Sector

John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s 2024 flagbearer, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government for mishandling the small-scale mining sector.

Mahama accuses the government of gross mismanagement and abuse of power, alleging unfair treatment of political allies at the expense of sector development.

Speaking at the 3rd Annual Transformational Dialogue on Small-Scale Mining at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani on Wednesday, May 15, Mahama voiced concerns over the government’s handling of the sector.

He argued that the government’s policies have negatively impacted small-scale mining and vowed to introduce a fresh vision for the sector if elected, prioritizing the interests of all stakeholders.
