According to Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, the lawmaker was granted bail immediately after his arrest.
Gyamfi emphasized that the accusations against Hon. Dauda are unfounded, stating that Dauda wasn’t present at the scene of the incident but rather engaged in monitoring the registration process in his constituency.

Expressing condemnation of the arrest, Gyamfi urged the police to focus on capturing the true culprits behind the disturbance, highlighting that individuals associated with the opposing New Patriotic Party (NPP) were responsible for the chaos.
Gyamfi specifically mentioned a known figure called Anointing as one of the leaders of the NPP’s involvement in the incident.
The police, however, maintain that the MP was arrested due to his alleged involvement in the fracas that occurred at a registration center on May 11, 2024.
They reported one individual sustaining injuries during the altercation and assured the public of their commitment to apprehending other suspects linked to the disturbance.
