Wike Admits Supporting Fubara Was a Mistake That Will Be Rectified

In a candid revelation, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, admitted to a misstep in his support for Sim Fubara’s bid to succeed him as Rivers State governor.

Speaking at an event in Rivers State’s Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Wike tendered an apology to the state’s populace, acknowledging his fallibility as a human being. He assured the people of rectifying the error in due course.

“I’ve made a mistake, and I admit it. When you err in life, you own up to it, seek forgiveness, and strive to correct it,” Wike stated. Emphasizing the inevitability of errors, he urged against self-destruction over mistakes.

Wike’s remarks seemingly respond to Fubara’s recent assertion of gratitude without worship.

Wike clarified that he never demanded worship, asserting that appreciation for assistance rendered is crucial, as it acknowledges both human and divine roles in one’s success.

“In politics, gratitude matters. God works through people, and acknowledging their role is akin to acknowledging God’s benevolence,” Wike emphasized.

The minister’s candid admission underscores the importance of humility and accountability in leadership, signaling a commitment to rectify past misjudgments for the betterment of Rivers State.
