Fans Disappointed as Funke Akindele’s ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ Misses Out on AMVCA 2024

The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) held on May 11, 2024 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria, sparking mixed reactions, particularly around Funke Akindele’s film “A Tribe Called Judah” missing out on awards despite its record-breaking box office success.

“Breath of Life” emerged as the biggest winner of the night, taking home six awards including Best Movie, Best Director for BB Sasore, Best Lead Actor for Wale Ojo, and more.

The snub of Nigeria’s highest-grossing film has led to a heated debate on social media, with many fans claiming Funke Akindele was “robbed” and comparing the two films.
