Limited Voter Registration: 176 Applicants Receive ID Cards in Agona West

During the ongoing limited voters registration exercise in Agona West, Central Region, a total of 176 applicants successfully received their identity cards after two days.

Anobil Forson, the Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Agona West, confirmed to the Ghana News Agency in Swedru that out of the total, 97 were males while 79 were females.

Over the course of the two days, 101 guarantors vouched for the applicants, with representatives from the major political parties, including the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), conducting themselves commendably.

Forson emphasized that the registration process proceeded without significant challenges during the initial days, expressing confidence that it would continue smoothly.

He cautioned against under-aged individuals attempting to register, highlighting that it is against the law, and urged political parties to collaborate with the EC to ensure a successful registration process.

Additionally, Forson appealed to guarantors to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing their role to avoid any legal consequences.
