NPP Member Attacked with Cutlass Amid Allegations of Busing People for Voter Registration

Justice Agyemang, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was brutally assaulted during the ongoing limited voter registration exercise in Cape Coast North.

Agyemang sustained cutlass wounds to his head in the altercation.

According to reports from onuaonline.com, the attack on Agyemang was allegedly carried out by Eric Sampson, also known as Bullet, purportedly the bodyguard of Cape Coast North Member of Parliament, Samuel Kwamena Mintah.

The incident occurred amidst allegations that individuals being transported from other locations to the registration center were obstructed from registering, sparking tension between the Member of Parliament’s entourage and NPP members.

It is reported that the cutlass used in the attack was in the possession of the MP’s bodyguard at one point during the altercation.

After the violent confrontation, bystanders rushed Agyemang to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

The Electoral Commission’s limited registration exercise, which commenced on May 7, aims to register eligible Ghanaians who have turned 18. The exercise is scheduled to conclude on May 27.
