This decision came during a ruling on May 10, emphasizing the importance of respecting the court’s directives.
The judge emphasized that it is inappropriate for Bello to obstruct the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in executing the arrest warrant issued against him.
Furthermore, the court emphasized that it would not consider any applications from Bello until he appears in court and responds to the 19-count money laundering charges brought against him by the EFCC.

Bello’s lawyer requested a stay in further proceedings pending the outcome of an appeal related to a contempt case before a High Court in Kogi state, but the judge rejected this request.
The EFCC is pursuing Bello on charges including money laundering, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds amounting to N80.2 billion.
This ruling underscores the court’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring accountability, regardless of the individual’s status or position.
