In the latest upheaval within the American pageant world, Miss Teen USA, UmaSofia Srivastava, has stepped down, following closely behind Miss USA, Noelia Voigt, who also relinquished her crown.

Srivastava cited a misalignment of personal values with the organization’s direction as her reason for resignation.
Winning the title back in September, she expressed pride in being the first Mexican-Indian American to hold the role.
In her Instagram announcement, Srivastava expressed her excitement for continuing her academic journey and advocacy work for education and acceptance.
The pageant organization, in response, expressed respect for her decision and assured the appointment of a successor soon.

Voigt’s resignation earlier in the week, citing mental health concerns, sparked conversations about the well-being of pageant titleholders.
She urged prioritizing mental health and self-advocacy in her Instagram post, which led to speculation about a hidden message related to a non-disclosure agreement.
These resignations, coupled with the departure of the organization’s social media director, Claudia Michelle, have raised questions about workplace culture within beauty pageants and the need for potential reforms.
As the pageant community grapples with these changes, the focus shifts towards ensuring the welfare and empowerment of participants beyond the glitz and glamour.
