The deal with the ex-Real Madrid boss is nearly done, but the official announcement is on hold to show respect for David Moyes, the current manager.

David Sullivan, the owner of West Ham, has been keen on getting Lopetegui, even though others at the club wanted Ruben Amorim. Moyes is leaving after more than four years, and the club won’t say more until they’ve officially hired someone new.

Lopetegui, who left Wolves nearly a year ago, is expected to wrap up his contract details soon. West Ham believes he’s the perfect choice for the job.
Although the official announcement has been delayed, negotiations are progressing smoothly, and Lopetegui is expected to sign an initial two-year contract.
David Moyes has done an outstanding job during his second spell at West Ham, guiding the club to their first major trophy in 43 years when they won the Europa Conference League last season.
