Nottingham Forest’s Four-Point Deduction Stands After Unsuccessful Appeal

Nottingham Forest are unsuccessful after their appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). The deduction was imposed in March after Forest admitted overspending by £34.5 million over three years.

However, it was reduced from a potential six points due to the club’s “excellent cooperation,” according to the independent commission monitoring the rule. Currently, Forest sits three points above the relegation zone with only two games remaining in the season.

Meanwhile, the club is yet to release an official statement regarding the outcome of their appeal. In a previous response to the initial deduction, Forest criticized the Premier League’s submissions to the commission, expressing dismay at the tone and content.

Forest face Chelsea at home and Burnley away in their final two games of the season, hoping to secure their status in the league. Nottingham Forest’s appeal against their four-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) was unsuccessful. The club was punished in March for breaching PSR and, despite their appeal last month, the verdict was upheld on Tuesday.
