Archbishop Charles Agyinasare Named President of The Bible Society of Ghana

The Bible Society of Ghana recently experienced a momentous occasion with an announcement from its General Secretary, Very Rev Dr. John Kwesi Addo Jnr who declared His Grace, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, as the newly appointed President of the Society.

The declaration occurred on Friday, May 3, during the Supernatural Empowerment Summit, attended by thousands of Christian leaders from 47 countries.

This appointment signifies a notable milestone in the history of The Bible Society, as it marks the first instance where the Governing Council has selected a Charismatic Church leader for the position of President.

The Chairman emphasized that Archbishop Agyinasare’s esteemed leadership and admirable character were crucial factors that contributed to the unanimous decision.

“The core objective of The Bible Society of Ghana is to provide Bibles in various local languages at affordable prices. Currently, the society has successfully translated the Bible into nine major Ghanaian languages and is actively working on three new ones,” he stated.

The Chairman underscored the significance of this appointment in advancing the Society’s mission, noting Archbishop Agyinasare’s extensive four-decade-long experience in ministry.

“With such a wealth of experience, Archbishop Agyinasare is poised to steer the organization towards achieving its objectives during his two-year mandate as President,” the Chairman added.

In an acceptance speech, Archbishop Agyinasare expressed gratitude for the chance to serve as President and reaffirmed his dedication to the Society’s mission.

He stressed the significance of ensuring that the Bible is accessible to every Ghanaian, irrespective of their background or language, and vowed to work tirelessly towards achieving this objective.
