The Electoral Commission (EC) is set to kick off the limited voter registration today, May 7, to prepare for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

This registration period, spanning 21 days until May 27, 2024, targets new voters who have come of age since the last registration.
The EC plans to establish permanent registration centers at district offices and deploy mobile teams to remote areas for accessibility. Political parties will receive a list of these centers at least 21 days before the registration starts.
John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, urges all eligible citizens to register, emphasizing the importance of their participation in shaping Ghana’s future.

Similarly, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) calls on people to register and ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections.
Both leaders stress the significance of voting as a means to effect change and contribute to the development of Ghana.
