A devastating rainstorm wreaked havoc in Miango District, Bassa Local Government of Plateau State, leaving behind a trail of destruction.

According to Nuhu Nga, the Publicity Secretary of Miango Youth Development Association, the calamity struck on Monday afternoon, causing injury to three individuals and damaging more than 200 houses.
Nga detailed the extensive destruction, which included residential homes, a clinic, schools, shops, and livestock pens.
Additionally, the storm uprooted economic trees and left numerous people stranded. Valuables like documents, household items, and cement were not spared from the rampage.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but the injured have been hospitalized for treatment. Some affected individuals have sought refuge in the homes of neighbors.
The aftermath of the storm exacerbates the challenges faced by the Miango community, which has endured violent attacks and displacement in the past.
Nga appealed for urgent assistance from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Local Government Council.
Furthermore, he called upon NGOs and compassionate individuals to lend a helping hand, especially as the rainy season persists.
