Multiple Structures Destroyed by Fire in Chorkor

A fire outbreak devastated several structures in Saban Park, Chorkor Chemuena, Greater Accra Region, on Sunday, May 5, 2024. The incident occurred while many residents were away attending church services.

The timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) prevented the fire from spreading to nearby residences. Firefighters from the Korle Bu fire station and Accra City, Makola, were swiftly deployed to contain the blaze.

Unfortunately, multiple ‘chamber and hall’ self-contained homes were engulfed by the inferno, resulting in significant damage to property.

While the cause of the fire remains undetermined, some witnesses speculate that it may have been triggered by an electrical fault.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and evaluate the extent of the damage incurred by the affected residents.
