Taking to Twitter on May 6, 2024, Anyidoho disputed the President’s claim, stating, “It has not been resolved oooo!!!!,” while sharing a Citi News flyer of the President’s announcement made on May 1.
President Akufo-Addo had declared during the 2024 May Day celebration that the recent power outages had been rectified, attributing the improvement to maintenance work on transformers by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

He expressed confidence in a stable power supply, stating, “Issues surrounding the maintenance of the transformers have been resolved.”
“Indeed, we have witnessed a stable power supply across the country with no load shedding reported anywhere yesterday… I am confident that the unfortunate era of dumsor will not return.”
However, Anyidoho’s challenge casts doubt on the President’s assertion, suggesting that the issue of power outages may not have been fully addressed despite the official statement.
