Recent reports suggest that Dortmund intends to open discussions with United regarding the possibility of extending Sancho’s stay in Germany.

Although Dortmund may not have the funds for Sancho’s permanent transfer this summer, they are considering extending his loan for another year, potentially including a buyout clause at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Despite United’s significant £73 million investment in Sancho in 2021, the 24-year-old winger struggled to meet expectations at Old Trafford.

His strained relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag reached its peak following a defeat to Arsenal in August, leading to speculation about his future.

After facing disciplinary measures and being sidelined from the squad, Sancho found redemption upon his return to Dortmund in January 2024.

Since then, he has become an integral part of the team, showcasing his talent notably during Dortmund’s recent victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final.

Despite rumors circulating about a possible return to United, Sancho seems determined to continue his career in Germany, even if Ten Hag is no longer in charge next season.
