The Nigerian Defence Headquarters announced significant progress in the fight against terrorism, with over 715 terrorists neutralized and 465 hostages rescued in April.

According to Maj-Gen Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operation, these achievements were made possible through coordinated ground and air operations aimed at defeating terrorist groups.
The military’s efforts included ambushes, raids, and fighting patrols, with aerial assets targeting terrorist leaders and their bases.
Notable successes included the neutralization of senior terrorist commanders and the destruction of their enclaves and hideouts in various locations.
In the North-East, Operation Hadin Kai conducted missions in key areas, resulting in the elimination of 248 terrorists and the rescue of 163 kidnapped hostages.

Additionally, hundreds of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists surrendered, with significant recoveries of weapons and ammunition.
Similar operations were carried out in the North-Central and North-West regions, targeting criminal strongholds and resulting in the neutralization of terrorists, arrests, and hostage rescues.
Operation Delta Safe focused on combating violent extremists and illegal activities in the South-South, while Operation UDO KA achieved successes in the South-East.
These operations demonstrate the military’s commitment to securing the nation and safeguarding citizens from the threats posed by terrorist groups.
