During a sermon on Sunday, April 28th, Oyedepo warned that their actions would only bring bitterness and ruin.
In his sermon, Oyedepo emphasized the importance of following the laws of sowing and reaping, giving and receiving.
He urged those involved in fraudulent activities to cease their actions, stating that their chosen path would ultimately lead to destruction.
The term ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ has become synonymous with internet fraud in Nigeria, originating from the early 2000s when Nigerian youth began engaging in online scams, often using Yahoo! email accounts.

Initially, scammers relied on email phishing and advance-fee fraud, but as technology advanced, so did their methods, including identity theft and hacking.
The proliferation of ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ culture in Nigeria can be attributed to high unemployment rates and limited economic opportunities. Despite efforts by law enforcement to combat cybercrime, it remains prevalent.
Oyedepo’s warning serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illegal activities and the importance of seeking legitimate means of livelihood.
As awareness grows, there is hope for a shift towards ethical practices and a brighter future for Nigerian youth.
