Born in Corning, New York, Eddy began playing guitar at a young age and was influenced by singing cowboys and renowned musicians like Les Paul and Chet Atkins. He rose to fame after teaming up with producer Lee Hazelwood, who helped shape his signature “twang” style.

Despite a dip in chart success during the British invasion, Eddy’s influence endured, with artists like George Harrison and Hank Marvin citing him as an inspiration. Over the years, his music found new life in movies and TV shows, and he continued to record albums until his retirement in the mid-1980s.

Eddy’s impact on the rock ‘n’ roll landscape earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, solidifying his legacy as one of the genre’s most iconic figures.
