Ghana Faces Bankruptcy and Unsustainable Debt Under Bawumia’s Economic Management Team, Says Kwakye Ofosu

Former Deputy Minister of Information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has leveled strong criticism against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Kwakye Ofosu accuses Bawumia of ineffectiveness in his role as the head of the Economic Management Team (EMT).

In his assessment, Kwakye Ofosu highlighted significant shortcomings under Bawumia’s leadership, pointing to a deteriorating economy burdened by unsustainable debts.

He lamented the devaluation of the local currency against major international currencies, citing it as evidence of economic mismanagement.

Expressing his views on the X platform, Kwakye Ofosu emphasized the dire consequences of Bawumia’s leadership, citing cases of government default on debts and the appropriation of bondholders’ funds, including pensioners.

He also noted the adverse impact on citizens, referencing high inflation leading to severe cost of living challenges.

Furthermore, Kwakye Ofosu criticized Bawumia’s apparent evasion of economic discourse, suggesting it as a sign of weakness and a tacit acknowledgment of failure.

He predicted electoral defeat for Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 elections, attributing it to his perceived poor performance in managing the economy.
