Legendary boxer Azumah Nelson is gearing up for an exciting exhibition match against the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, slated for May 4, 2024, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

The event, dubbed “Diplo Rumble: Empowering Youth Through Sports,” is set to be a highlight of the EU Month celebrations in May.
It will feature an 11-fight card, with Azumah Nelson headlining the three-round exhibition catchweight bout against Ambassador Razaaly. Notably, Azumah’s son, Dalvin, will also participate in the matchups.
At the launch of the event in Accra on Sunday, Azumah Nelson expressed his eagerness to participate in the match, emphasizing its significance in providing a platform for young boxers to showcase their skills.
He underscored the importance of discipline in boxing and highlighted Ghana’s potential to produce more world champions with dedication and values.

Regarding his bout with the Ambassador, Azumah hinted at a decisive victory and urged spectators to arrive early to witness the action-packed event. He emphasized his commitment to showcasing his boxing prowess.
Ambassador Razaaly, who brings amateur boxing experience from France, also expressed excitement for the event. He praised Ghana’s sportsmanship, particularly in boxing, and hoped that the exhibition would contribute to nurturing future Ghanaian boxing talents.
Additionally, he highlighted the EU’s dedication to youth development in Ghana and saw the event as a celebration of this commitment.
