Draped in a stunning floor-length gold Balenciaga gown, Kidman expressed gratitude to the directors she has collaborated with throughout her illustrious career.
“It is a privilege to make films,” Kidman said. “Thank you for making me better at my craft and giving me a place, however temporary, in this world.”
During the ceremony, emotional moments surfaced as Urban shared a heartfelt tribute to his wife, recalling her unwavering support during his battle with substance abuse early in their marriage.

Video tributes from esteemed Australian actors Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, and Cate Blanchett underscored Kidman’s impact on the global stage.
Kidman’s Hollywood journey began with her breakthrough role alongside Tom Cruise in 1990’s Days Of Thunder. Despite divorcing Cruise in 2001, Kidman’s career continued to ascend, culminating in her first Oscar nomination for Moulin Rouge in 2001 and a subsequent win for Best Actress in The Hours in 2003.
The AFI Life Achievement Award, recognized as the “highest honor in American cinema,” joins Kidman’s illustrious list of accolades, cementing her legacy as an iconic figure in the film industry.
