Prices of some essential food items have dropped in the states of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe in Nigeria.

In Yola Central Market, Adamawa:
A 50kg bag of foreign rice has dropped from ₦80,000-₦85,000 to ₦57,000-₦58,000.
A 100kg bag of beans has decreased from ₦110,000 to ₦100,000.
A 100kg bag of guinea corn has reduced from ₦60,000 to ₦55,000.
A big carton of spaghetti has gone down from ₦13,500 to ₦12,800.
A carton of Indomie noodles has decreased from ₦15,000 to ₦13,500.

In Yobe:
A 100kg bag of white beans has dropped from ₦110,000 to ₦75,000.
A 100kg bag of red beans has decreased from ₦130,000 to ₦95,000.
A 50kg bag of local rice has reduced from ₦65,000 to ₦45,000.
A 100kg bag of guinea corn has gone down from ₦60,000 to ₦50,000.

In Maiduguri, Borno:
A 50kg bag of foreign rice is now ₦70,000 instead of ₦80,000.
A 50kg bag of local rice is ₦63,000.
A 100kg bag of maize has decreased from ₦75,000 to ₦64,000.
However, a basket of tomatoes has increased from ₦9,000 to ₦18,000, and a sack of Atargu (pepper) has risen from ₦52,000 to ₦65,000.
Traders and experts attribute the price drops to the recent rise in the value of the Nigerian Naira and the need for farmers to prepare for the next planting season.
They urge the government to sustain the measures that have led to these price reductions to ensure affordability and accessibility for the citizens.
