Despite high hopes, Zamalek dominated the game, clinching victory and a spot in the final.

Zamalek’s Tunisian defender, Hamza Mathlouti, set the tone with an early goal in the 12th minute, followed by another by Samson Akinyoola in the 27th. Mostafa Shalaby sealed the win just before the hour mark.

Although Dreams FC managed a goalless draw in the first leg, Zamalek’s experience proved decisive in the return match.

Now, Zamalek awaits the outcome of the other semi-final between RS Berkane and USM Alger.

Despite the setback, Dreams FC’s journey has been remarkable, defying odds to reach the semi-finals. Their efforts reflect their dedication and preparation since winning the Ghana FA Cup last season.

As Dreams FC refocuses on the Ghana Premier League, they exit the competition with pride, marking the first time a Ghanaian side has reached the knockout stage in 20 years.

Though their final dream faded, they’ve left an indelible mark with their commendable performance on the continental stage.
